I know what it’s like to feel like the odds are stacked against you. I was a teenage mom who experienced the struggles of raising a child while still being a child myself, feelings of abandonment, and the pressure to be perfect. At the time, I believed college was out of reach—I just wanted to earn a certificate and learn a trade, something that felt possible in my circumstances.
But I kept pushing. I persevered. And while I had support along the way, the journey was still incredibly hard. There were moments of doubt, exhaustion, and fear. But I refused to let my circumstances define me.
Today, I hold a Master of Social Work, dedicated to providing hope and healing to the same girls and women I once was.
I founded Melanin Therapy For Women with a clear mission: to instill hope and help women in need. I believe in creating a safe, supportive space where Black and Brown women can heal, grow, and reclaim their power. Whether you’re navigating life’s challenges, past trauma, or simply seeking a space where you feel seen and understood, I’m here to walk this journey with you.
You are not alone, and your healing matters.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA), I receive supervision from Mary Ayers, LCSW, who can be reached by email at mbayerslcsw@gmail.com. As part of my training, I engage in periodic case consultations to enhance the quality of care provided.
I can’t wait to hear from you soon!
Welcome to my therapy space!
Healing happens best in a space that feels warm, inviting, and safe—and if you take one look at my desk setup, you’ll quickly notice that my healing aesthetic comes with a generous splash of pink! 💕 (What can I say? Healing should be soothing and stylish.)
This is where I hold space for Black & Brown women to process, reflect, and grow. Whether it’s EMDR therapy, self-discovery conversations, or working through life’s challenges, this is my virtual “office” where transformation begins.
A cozy pink desk setup (because peace & pink go hand in hand!)
A warm cup of coffee (or let’s be real… an energy drink when the day calls for it)
My favorite therapy books (yes, “The Body Keeps the Score” is tucked away inside my desk)
A small plant &/or a calming candle (because a good vibe is everything)
Sticky notes with affirmations ("You are enough. You are healing. You are powerful.")
So, whether we’re diving into EMDR sessions, unpacking past wounds, or building your confidence, know that behind the screen, I’ve set the mood for calm, clarity, and healing.
Oh, and if you're wondering—yes, pink is my power color.
